“Bow the Knee” Christian Musical

This is a Christian musical that has been done for 15+ years by Zion Lutheran Church in Aniwa. It has been well received and people from Wausau to Minocqua participate in the 30+ voice choir and as actors. In recent years it has been held in other places to reach more people.

This is the first time the event will be hosted in Tomahawk. Hosting This Christian musical tells the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection. The promotion will be a way of inviting all people to hear this story. The program will list the time of worship for Holy Week and Easter Sunday at Grace Lutheran Church (ELCA), St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (LC-MS). This united effort will emphasize our congregations commonality in our faith in and proclamation of Jesus.

Trip to the Holy Land

Our synodical Bishop Gerald Mansholt is finalizing details for a trip to Israel and Palestine. This will be a very unique and inside view as he is arranging this with the Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land, http://www.elcjhl.org. If interested let our church office know. We will also keep you up to date as we hear information.

Learn about the Holy Land
Whether or not you consider this trip to the Holy Land there is great value in learning more about the geography, religions, and political realities in that area of the world. The Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) is piloting a curriculum that explains many things about the Holy Land.
Grace Church is involved in this pilot program.  Please sign up in the gathering space or let the office or Pastor Mark know if you are interested so you can receive the short article to prepare for the first meeting.

Feb 10 “Ties to the Land: Christianity in Israel and Palestine” a CMEP curriculum on Who the Christians of the Holy Land are and why they are important to the global Church.
Feb 17  “
Two Peoples Two Histories” Why Israelis and Palestinians both claim historic ties to the Land.
Feb  24
“Jerusalem a Sacred City of Peace” a CMEP curriculum on Why Jerusalem is sacred for Jews, Christians, and Muslims.
March dates and topics will be posted soon!
For more information please open our February newsletter.

Snowbirds – you can participate in the Holy Land study! All we need is your email or snail mail address. Pastor Mark will see that you receive the articles to read and links to videos and PowerPoint to watch. CMEP is a  coalition of 27 national Church denominations and organizations in Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, and Evangelical traditions.
