Lenten church services at Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk are at 1:00 and 7:00 PM. Join us for a soup lunch before the services starting at 11:30 AM and 5:30 PM. During Lent, we will use Martin Luther’s Small Catechism to center us on Jesus. Each Wednesday we will enter into the six chief parts of this Catechism. Come and be centered in God’s amazing Good News for you:
Ten Commandments: this will form our confession of sin.
Apostles’ Creed: Luther’s explanation will inform this ancient statement of belief. Baptism: the sermon March 8 & 15 will explain God’s claim on you.
Confession: the sermon March 22 will explain God’s forgiveness offered to you. Communion: the sermon March 29 & April 5 will explain God’s gifts given.
One of our 500 year old tradition as Lutherans is to work together wherever possible in witness to Jesus Christ and in service and relationship to our neighbor.
EPIC 2017 is an Annual Event to Equip People In Congregations! It is for all congregational leaders, pastors, youth and all members!! There will be a wide variety of workshops for all.

in Fellowship Hall at Grace Church
If you haven’t already, get your dinner tickets by Feb. 12th . They will be available in the Gathering Space before and after church services and in the office during the week.
There is still time to donate an auction or drawing item. (new items of any value are appreciated)
Please consider helping to set up, cook, clean up, or help at the auction. You can sign up in the Gathering Space at Grace Church.
Can’t make it to the dinner? There are plenty of other ways to be involved by donating items, buying drawing tickets or bidding on the silent auction items on Saturday, February 11 and Sunday, February 12 before or after worship services. You’ll be able to buy drawing tickets to drop in the buckets of your choice, enter your bid on a silent auction item, preview our live auction items and perhaps ask someone to bid for you that evening.
Remember: If the dinner tickets are sold out, you can still come to the auction starting around 5:30 p.m.
Don’t miss this Graceful opportunity for fun and fellowship while supporting our debt reduction efforts. Hope to see you there!!!

Sarah Vatne is the designated person to receive Grace’s December Special Offering. As a Young Adult in Global Mission (YAGM) she is asked to raise $4000 and the ELCA provides the other $9,000. Grace’s support given in her name will assist her with her $4000 with the remainder towards the $9000 to assist all 84 YAGMs placed around the globe. See Sarah’s blog of amazing pictures and story – https://sarahtosa.wordpress.com/
YAGMs are 21-29 years of age, carefully placed and supported by the ELCA, to be about God’s mission in an “accompaniment” style, in a foreign land. Sarah is placed at Empangeni, South Africa working at a “Place of Safety”, which has a boarding school and activity center, which houses and educates children who have been orphaned, abandoned, or abused. As her Zulu language skills improve she will work directly with the kids who live there.
