Lent begins on February 18 through March 25, 2015

Reflection with Commitment and RepentanceLent is a period of forty days (not counting Sundays) that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Maundy Thursday. During this time we examine our thoughts, words, actions, and attitudes in order to be more open for God’s Holy Spirit to reshape us and our lifestyle around God‘s love and action in Jesus Christ.

Wednesday Lenten Schedule—Please note the time change for evening worship!   Midday worship remains at 1:00 pm and is preceded by the 11:30 am soup meal. Evening worship has changed to 6:30 pm, and is preceded by the soup meal which begins at 5:15 pm.
This message in Deuteronomy 6:4 known as the “Shema” became the basis for daily prayer for Jews. Jesus quotes this as the summary of God’s law and will. Each week we take one aspect:
February 25         “Love the LORD your God, 
March 4               with all your heart, 
March 11             with all your soul, 
March 18             with all your mind, 
March 25             with all your strength.
