Summer Outdoor Worship will start on May 25th at 10:00 am at Schaefer’s Wharf on beautiful Lake Nokomis! Come as you are…by boat, bike, foot, or car. Bring your lawn chair or a blanket to sit on the grass.
(Weather related changes will be announced on WJJQ and outdoor service will be held indoors at Grace Church when necessary.)
Three worship times each weekend
Saturday worship at the church is at 5:00 pm and Sunday worship is at 8:30 am year round at Grace. Note the change from 10:45 am worship at Grace to 10:00 am at Schaefer’s Wharf from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend:
Worship at Schaefer’s Wharf Communion at Outdoor Worship
There will be Communion at Outdoor Worship on the following Sundays: May 25 · June 8, 22 · July 6, 13, & 27- August 10, 24, 31
Outdoor Worship is Accessibility Use the ramp at the entrance to Schaefer’s Wharf and go to the deck over- looking the garden. Bulletins and Communion will be brought to you by the ushers. Seating on the deck and the front parking spaces should be limited to those who are not able to access the garden and for Schaefer’s breakfast customers. There is plenty of parking in the gravel lot next to Schaefer’s or across the road at the Windmill. Enjoy breakfast or an ice cream cone after service!
Two Entrances to Outdoor Worship The popular and most visible entrance to the garden is near the front of Schaefer’s Wharf, down the steps near County L. However, there is a second entrance at the rear of Schaefer’s Wharf. Ushers will be prepared to guide you, and there is often more room for lawn chairs on that side. Remember to bring a blanket or lawn chair.
