Grades 1-12 – Register ASAP for camp!
June 24-29 is the week Pastor Mark attends camp with the youth and Waypost gives a special discount for all who register through Erin Story at Grace. But hurry, each program is filling up fast! With the generosity of the March Special Offering, Grace will pay $100 for any child for any Crossways program, week or site ($150 for those in grades 6-8) until money is gone. Please register ASAP. June 24-29 Programs at Waypost are:

· Pioneers – grades 1-3, Sunday-Tuesday June 24-26

. Pathfinders – grades 3-5 (this and all others are full- week program)

· Mavericks – grades 6-8, openings available

· Faith Ventures – grades 9-12, openings available

· CrossTrek – grades 8-11, openings for two girls & two boys (biking program)

Calling All Interested in Becoming New Members of Grace!

Would you like to become a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk, Wisconsin? Do you know someone who may be interested in becoming a member of Grace? Pastor Mark and Pastor Rebecca invite all those interested in becoming members of Grace to learn about the history of Grace, the ELCA, Grace’s vision for discipleship (following Jesus), its ministries, and, of course, its fellowship!

The spring new member schedule is:
Sunday, April 15: Lunch at 12:00 noon —We will introduce the staff of Grace and learn about the history of Grace, our greater-church relationship with the ELCA, and Grace’s Mission and Vision. Refreshments will be served.
Sunday, April 22: Discipleship session at 9:45 am—We will discuss what it means to be a disciple of Christ—a follower of Jesus.
Sunday, April 29: Ministry session at 9:45 am—We will discuss the ministries of Grace, the ministry of your own life and its impact on your life, family, community and the world.
Sunday, May 6: Evening meal at 5:00 pm with pastors and sponsors.
Sunday, May 13: Installation of new members during worship— We will officially welcome you and your family into the family of Grace Lutheran. Your sponsor (member of Grace) will introduce you and your family during the worship service that best fits you.

All current members of Grace are invited to refresh and renew their understanding of Grace – its ministries and beliefs – by attending any or all of the sessions. Attendance at all sessions is not mandatory for becoming a member. Rather, it is a way to connect and learn together about each other, about Grace, and about Grace’s ministries. All learning sessions are open to everyone, and new members are encouraged to attend. All members are invited to the welcoming worship service Sunday, May 13, 2012.

Join the Grace Lutheran “Older Wiser Lutherans” on
September 17-20, 2012 as we tour the rivers, hills, and State Parks of Southwest Wisconsin, and as Pastor Check introduces us to the hills and streams of Jesus’ home.
First Deadline is April 15
$25 for each person guarantees a place
on the trip, after April 15 is as room allows.
The final Deadline is June 15 when $375 balance is due.

1. Madikwe Concert – 80+ voice choir – July 6, 2012
*Jointly sponsored with “Music on the Park” on Friday, July 6th at 6:00 PM at Veterans Memorial Park in Tomahawk, Wisconsin
*Likely to include a picnic to welcome and feed the Madikwe Choir
*Grace Church Council sees this as a great opportunity to witness to the Tomahawk community.
**A Coordination Team is needed to consider, plan, and make arrangements for the picnic, promotion, and any remaining details for the picnic.

2. Welcome event – three visiting from Lekubu – July 7 & 8, 2012

*Grace Church Council again wonders about having a time for greeting and welcoming our visitors after the Saturday 5:00 PM worship at Grace Church and after the Sunday 10:00 AM Outdoor Worship, perhaps at Veterans Memorial Park.

Welcome to the Augsburg Band on Saturday, March 17th @ 7:00 pm!

Grace Lutheran Church and St. Mary’s Catholic Church will co-host the Augsburg College Band on March 17, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Grace Lutheran in Tomahawk, WI. A freewill offering will be accepted.
Host families are needed for band members. Call the office at 715-453-4066 or see the Welcome Center at Grace if you can host.

Council/Leadership meeting will be this Saturday March 3, at 9:00 AM, at Tomahawk Community Bank! With this great topic & presenter – all are welcome to come! Bring your spouse – invite others!
Pastor Joy Mortensen-Wiebe & her assistant, Tania Spofford will lead us on the “missional” emphasis in this 21st Century.
As less people walk in to church on their own, it is important for us to be out there living, speaking, & encouraging in a way that communicates God’s Good News to the many who are hungering for this but looking in the empty corners of life. Joy will lead us in the 3D mission of discovery-discerning-discipleship! Joy’s title now is Director of Evangelical Mission for our Synod. So she will be telling her story of why this is so important, why she is so into this, and how she sees, has learned, and is urging Grace to unite as a congregation around a greater awareness of the realities of this 21^st Century and the amazing opportunities and ways we have to invite people into God’s Good News!

Our youth are raising funds for the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans July 2012! Look for flamingo order forms on the youth board by the information station in the Gathering Space. Fill out a form for each address you’d like to “flock.” Or purchase Flocking Insurance to keep your yard and mailbox from getting flocked.
